DEAE-polysucrose

DEAE-polysucrose

DEAE-Polysucrose is a polysucrose (renamed from Ficoll™) substituted with diethylaminoethyl (DEAE) groups. The DEAE-polysucrose from TdB Labs is derived from a polysucrose with an average molecular weight of approximately 70 kDa. All batches are checked for molecular weight, degree of substitution and loss on drying. DEAE-polysucrose is supplied as a white powder.

Structure
Polysucrose is a high molecular weight sucrose-polymer formed by copolymerisation of sucrose with epichlorohydrin. The molecules are highly branched, and the high content of hydroxyl groups leads to very good solubility in aqueous media. DEAE-polysucrose is then prepared by reacting polysucrose with diethylaminoethyl chloride.

Storage and stability
DEAE-polysucrose is stable for more than 6 years when stored dry in well-sealed containers at ambient temperature.

Solubility
DEAE-polysucrose dissolves readily in water.
